Day 10: Junk Food Edition

Jack had another rough night, so I thought we'd focus on some proven winners today, As such, we read a lot of high seeds, and they all lived up to their billing.

Sandra Boynton Region
11. Peek-a-WHO? vs. 3. Doggies
This was an even match-up. "Doggies" had ten different dog noises (supplemented by our dog's noises), but "Peek-a-WHO?" has surprises, animals, and a mirror! Jack was in a "Doggies" mood this morning, however, and so the Sandra Boynton Region still has some namesake representation in the Sweet 16.

Dr. Seuss Region
1. Mr. Brown Can Moo! Can You? vs. 9. The Runaway Bunny
The Dr. Seuss Region will also have Dr. Seuss in the Sweet 16, and "Mr. Brown Can Moo!" has been the one book in the tournament guaranteed to put Jack in a better mood (even if he's already in a good one), and it kept on rolling here. . . even over another classic.

Beatrix Potter Region
7. Fiona the Hippo vs. 2. Guess How Much I Love You?
"Guess How Much I Love You?" is another strong candidate to make it to the Final Four, and it pushed out Fiona today.

Shel Silverstein Region
1. I Love You, Stinky Face vs. 9. When Clay Sings
"When Clay Sings" has been a great discovery of this tournament, and we are going to make a concerted effort to keep it in Jack's long-term rotation. Today, however, "Stinky Face" was a clear winner. We probably read it to him a dozen times before the tournament started, and that familiarity is a security blanket that's hard to overrate.

Tomorrow, the field of 16 gets set in stone for the 2020 book bracket!
