Day 13: The Sweet Sixteen, Part 2

We hit a dry spell for half a week as Spring finally came, but we're back with the rest of the Sweet 16.

Dr. Seuss Region
1. Mr. Brown Can Moo! vs. 12. The Poky Little Puppy
A Dr. Seuss book is moving on to the Elite 8 after dispatching "the best-selling picture book of all time." As fun as it is to watch the poky little puppy get his comeuppance over and over again, "Mr Brown Can Moo!" is more fun to read.

11. Time for a Hug vs. 15. Quiet LOUD
The carriage turns back into a pumpkin for the 15 seed here, and "Time for a Hug" makes it to the next round as an 11 seed. Historically, 11 seeds have advanced deep into the NCAAs a few times, including the 2018 run by Loyola University in Chicago that wrecked a lot of brackets. Those were the days.

Beatrix Potter Region
1. Tiny T.Rex and the Impossible Hug vs. 15. Richard Scarry's The Bunny Book
My wife nodded off a few times while I read "The Bunny Book," but paid just as much attention as Jack to "Tiny T.Rex." All four #1 seeds made it to the Elite 8, and I wouldn't be surprised at all the finals resembled the end of the 2008 tournament. If that happens, we'll have a special feature on the book that most resembles Mario Chalmers, and the one most likely to vacate for rules infractions in two years.

14. If Animals Kissed Good Night vs. 2. Guess How Much I Love You?
Again, the physical component of the conversation between Little Nutbrown Hare and Big Nutbrown Hare were too much for the other book. Jack loved "If Animals Kissed Goodnight," though (and the slooooow sloth kisses), so it will be in the bedtime rotation for a long time.

On to the Elite 8!
