Day 14: The Elite Eight

We're back! Four books are moving on from the regions below, and only two more match-ups to go before we crown our 3-month old's favorite book!

Sandra Boynton Region
1. The Monster at the End of this Book vs. 10. Tennis Legends
This was the second-closest match-up of the Elite Eight. For some reason Jack really likes the 26 short stories about tennis players almost as much as the twist in "The Monster at the End of this Book" (is it a spoiler to say that a book has a twist?). Even without the Grover voice, which is unsustainable (I can't even pull off a good Yoda), however, the #1 overall seed was chosen for a reason.

Dr. Seuss Region
1. Mr. Brown Can Moo! Can You? vs. 11. Time for a Hug
The Dr. Seuss book advanced out of the La Jolla Region! If you want to know the plot the Wikipedia page has it almost line by line. "Time for a Hug" can still hang that Elite Eight banner, but "Mr. Brown" is on the precipice of glory.

Beatrix Potter Region
1. Tiny T.Rex and the Impossible Hug vs. 2. Guess How Much I Love You?
The first (and only) upset is in the animal region. Which makes sense. Not to sound insensitive, but bunnies ("Guess How Much. . . ") are still extant animals (and are really in the spirit of Beatrix Potter besides). Jack really loved both of these books, but the big and little nutbrown hares are headed to the Final Four.

Shel Silverstein Region
1. I Love You, Stinky Face vs. 3. Go West!
Another close one, but there's no such thing as a free ticket to the Final Four. Jack really likes the illustrations and the enthusiasm I say "Go West!" with the numerous times it comes up, but there's something especially reassuring about the unconditional love in "Stinky Face."
Coming this weekend: the Final Four and the Championship game!
